Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action

Natural Resource Management

  • Water is the most essential resource for all those involved in agriculture, horticulture, livestock etc. but only 35% of land is irrigated, leading to the need for WRM
  • SRIJAN practices WRM in Jatara, Chhindwara, Pali, Pratapgarh, Angul and Koriya locations, and has benefited over 3000 farmers
  • Our interventions include building wells, farm ponds, dug-out ponds, irrigation-cum-percolation tanks, check dams, stop dams, staggered contour trenches, field bunding etc.
  • These interventions not only help conserving and optimally utilizing water but also reduce soil erosion
