Ms. R Vimla, CEO-MSRLM, visited custard apple pulp processing unit in Kari village of Dharur block in Beed district. She appreciated the efforts of VO members of Adarsh Mahila Gram Sangh, block and district teams of UMED along with SRIJAN team for its technical support in successful initiation of this livelihood initiative. This processing unit provides daily employment to more than 30 women of Kari village and raw fruits are procured from more than 200 forest dwelling households of 6 VLCCs(Village Level Collection Centers) at 50% higher prices(@ Rs. 12 per kg) in comparison to local traders. She also encouraged the team to replicate this intervention in other potential villages of Marathwada region.
