SRIJAN (Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action) is a Public Charitable Trust established in 2000. It is one of India’s premier grassroots implementation agencies. SRIJAN works with small and marginal farmer families, women, and other impoverished sections of society in the poorest of the poor poverty pockets of rural India in over 15 livelihood themes.

Apart from direct implementation, SRIJAN has also functioned as a Technical Support Agency for various programs. In Telangana and Maharashtra, SRIJAN has worked with the State Rural Livelihoods Mission to strengthen NTFP Value Chain with SHGs and its Federations as Livelihoods options. In UP, SRIJAN worked with UPSRLM to strengthen the community-led institutions model of SHGs and Cluster Level Federations. SRIJAN also worked as a Technical Support agency to enable finance access to FPOs in Assam by linking them with mainstream financial institutions with the support of ICCo.

SRIJAN launched Buddha Fellowship to accelerate Forward Linkage Program in 2017. SRIJAN has been successfully running a Buddha Fellowship Program (BFP) for the last three years, and this program offers opportunities for an IIT/ IIM graduate to become a development entrepreneur.
