Mohd Zahid, Team Leader of SRIJAN, and Prof. Niraj Kumar, Faculty, Rural Management from XIM University won the First Runner Up position in the Sitaram Rao Livelihoods India Case Study Competition, 2021 for their case study titled "Promoting agribusiness among the tribals: A case of sustainable livelihood". The case study features the Custard Apple value chain model promoted by SRIJAN which enhances livelihood opportunities for tribal women.
Neutral, a market-leading producer of sustainable apparel and accessories based in Copenhagen, Denmark, sourced organic cotton from the SRIJAN -supported FPO, COFE (Chhindwara Organic Farmers Enterprise) in Chhindwara district, Madhya Pradesh. This organic cotton initiative is funded by WWF-India (World Wide Fund for Nature) Approximately 150,000 high-quality, 100% organic cotton T-shirts were manufactured by Neutral and sold to buyers globally. This project focused on empowering small-scale cotton farmers by promoting sustainable organic farming practices. It also played a crucial role in maintaining and restoring biodiversity.
SRIJAN has been awarded the prestigious "GuideStar India Champion Level- Platinum certification".
